We are One

Merry Christ-Mas!

This is a reposting of a blog from 2012, but when you get something right it is timeless.  Please take some time alone this season and sit in silence while focusing on all the blessing of the year, make a list if you feel so moved.  Have a very Merry Christ-Mas!

Our favorite time of year is upon us again, especially if you are a youngster or still feel so.  It is a time of giving, sharing, and togetherness.  This does not require family, but it does require a willing to give of self.  It is easy to find those who need love through simple acknowledgement and/or attention.  A small gift of time or material substance is all it takes to let them know they are important.  To move beyond this point let us look deeper to the heart of the holiday.

This is the time of year when we are reminded of Christ consciousness and its relationship to our lives.  The very word itself is an indication of what this season is all about.  Christ in metaphysical terms means centered or anointed one.  The word “mas” in Spanish means “more”.   So thus we have it in simple terms.  This season is about getting more centered and the word “anoint” means to dedicate to the service of God or in other words, to make sacred and whole.

The ceremony (Christmas eve/Christmas morning) is a way of connecting to Spirit and setting intentions.  It is an acknowledgment of Oneness with God (Great Spirit, Universal Oneness, Goddess, etc).  The symbology is important this season because when you share gifts it is a way of saying to the recipient, “you are sacred to me”.  On Christmas morning you are anointing those you love with gifts.  The actual item is far less important than the Loving intention (Christ consciousness) that goes into the gift.  The gift is in the giving!

When thought of in this manner the Spirit of Christ Mas is brought to life!  This year when you are sitting around the tree (yule log, menorah, or whatever) and sharing gifts, share also the Christ Consciousness.  In short, move outside yourself (ego mind) and connect with the One (God) which is present in each person in your life.

This is how Santa delivers millions of presents all in one night!  Through Christ Consciousness the Spirit works through each of us!! May you be Blessed this season 😉

2009 Blessings

With only two days left in 2009 you may be tempted to look back over your year and judge it as good or bad, abundant or poor, easy or hard. Instead let us look back only briefly to see what worked, what was successful, what brought us Joy. Can you think of one thing that you did this year that brought Joy to your heart? How about a project that worked out just like you thought it would? Did any of your decisions of this year prove to be all you wished them to be?

We don’t have to get too big with the event either, something as simple as a new hair style that made you feel wonderful is a big success. Putting a garden in for the first time in years and enjoying the “fruits” of your labors is another great success. Helping a friend or neighbor with a project or really in any way is another Joy to be thankful for. New friends who brought Joy into your life are a wonderful gift to be grateful for. It is not hard to find these little treasures when we take a few minutes, relax, and reflect.

If you are so moved, write them down or journal about these wonderful successes so that any time you may be feeling down you can read over all the wonderful successes you have enjoyed over the years. Maybe you could create a victory book to record your progress. I mean that is the point of transition. To record our milestones and appreciate each and every success we have on the Journey of Love. It is so joyful to look back and see where you were and now look around at where you have come. After all as the Taoist saying goes, “The journey is the reward”. 😉 Sequoia Elisabeth
