We are One

String Theory

Life is a memory for all possibilities have already occurred. This is the nature of time and space! This is the power of God. The “I” you identify with is traveling down a string of possibility as you live and dream vibrations are released vibrating the strings. Each decision shifts you to a different string, if focused and harmonized each thought does too. Your life is a bundle of strings and with enough harmonized focused energy you can move to a different bundle, though this is exceedingly rare. Thoughts are repeated over and over thus holding you to your string or at least your bundle. Family and friends are there too, and though they can change paths as well this often does not happen. A family who dines together stays together rings true here, both metaphysically and literally.

Know the people in your life are not individuals per se, but archetypes which you attract through your thoughts.  Our friends and family too, exist as catalyst, potentiation, and significator. Read this book (An-Archetype-Workbook.PDF) for a better understanding of archetypes.  They say the bible is written in metaphor and perhaps our very lives are too!  Remember there is no “out there” out there.

Meditation opens up the path for review. Silence is the window! Be with yourself and feel gratitude! There is no blame for being on a particular string other than your own thoughts, choices, and actions. Make peace with this. Its all good, for we each are exactly where we need to be. Eventually we will know all the strings like a master violinist! Enjoy the ride so to speak. We are not here to control the path but to observe the relationships and know our contribution in what we call life. I am not part of it, I am all of it. I am not this person I think of (your name). I am all of it. I am not my family, my friends, my pets, my anything… I am ALL OF IT. Re-membering. I am not even God, because our view and understanding of God is too limiting. Let go …

Memory vs Memories

Having recently passed the half century mark I could be concerned with memory by buying into popular myths and misfortunes.  But this would be entirely off base.  Why? Because memory has been an issue for me since childhood.  My brain has never worked like most people’s do, so I had to learn techniques to cope with these challenges.

Remembering things I have seen is really easy for me, but if I have not seen them and only read or heard them it is much harder to remember.  This runs true for most people, experience is the best teacher, meaning we remember things we have directly experienced far better than stuff we have only heard or read about.

The topic of memory is quite large filling volumes of materials so we need to condense it into a manageable space.  It can also be approached from different perspectives such as memorization in an academic setting, memory for daily activities such as work (remembering names and faces), and memories of personal experiences.  I will focus on the later and offer these websites to cover the other topics, Memorization for school – http://www.au.af.mil/au/awc/awcgate/usafa/memory.htm.  Memory for daily activities – http://www.helpguide.org/articles/memory/how-to-improve-your-memory.htm.

Memories of personal experiences can be enhanced using the techniques offered in the previously provided websites on memory so I recommend reviewing them also.  I would like to offer up another term which greatly affects our lives and this is Selective Memory.  This may conjure up past or present relationships with a chuckle and it can be funny.  It can also be devastating to your Spiritual growth.  The simple fact is we tend to push unpleasant memories out of our mind and lock them away in our Pandora’s box which itself is hidden in our treasure chest of memories.  Yes, these are those experiences that cut to the bone and rocked our very soul!

Some would call this doing Shadow Work, just one name for it.  Here are some links to Debbie Ford’s life’s work, www.theshadoweffect.com/ and http://youtu.be/0kxy5GQkedo.  So if you find this to be helpful I will also recommend Byron Katie’s teachings, http://thework.com/ and http://www.byronkatie.com/.  This said, have you ever felt like you have hit a wall in your growth?  Perhaps the same issues keep recurring or you frequently meet similar type individuals.  “Shadow work is nothing more than the process of making the unconscious conscious and the unacceptable, acceptable.” (http://tealswan.com/articles/shadow-work-and-the-law-of-attraction)  The habit of selective memory could be behind this process.  The less you wish to look at something the more your mind will want to show you!  If ignored for long enough drastic events will happen to force you to face the issues being ignored.  Often these are life changing events, emotional breakdowns, physical injury, or drastic shifts in career.  The path to healing is to face these scary memories and past experiences which have never had the opportunity to be processed by the mind.

What one discovers when they make the effort to explore these memories and feelings which at first may be scary, is just how harmless they really are.  Abuse or trauma is one of those things we all tend to hide away and at the time it was the most efficient method of dealing with this overwhelming experience.  Now that the threat has passed it is safe to take another look at what happened.  Do not trust your memories in this regard.  Focus rather on the feelings surrounding the event and explore the roots.  Having a guide on this journey is often the best and most effective choice to make.  Just making the choice to face your fears is often enough.  There is no reason to fully relive the experience, only to see that which you could not before.  Once seen in a big picture format all is put into perspective and the mind releases its hold on these frightful experiences.  When a light is flipped on immediately it fills the room and darkness is gone.  This is how the process works.  Choose to dig deep down within your own psyche carrying a lantern with you!  Be not afraid of what lies below for it could lead to treasure!

Thoughts Are Things

Have you ever taken an inventory of your life?  You know, sat back and went over each event, how you feel or felt about that event and then filed it away or released it if it no longer serves you?  Your mind is like a filing cabinet for your life with each memory put in a file such as fun, educational, nostalgic, scary, painful, etc. and each one has a label such as good, bad, desirable, undesirable, forbidden, brag about it.   Does this really serve you?  How can I know that I do this?

Look around you right now, what do you see?  Is your desk cluttered, organized, dirty, clean, etc.?  The items you surround yourself with are metaphorical for your thoughts.  The mind actually exists in the space around our bodies, not in the brain as previously thought.  How can this be?  It is quite simple, just consider brain injury.  How can a person function with only half a brain or with a physical brain injury?  ( I have met a person with only half their brain, so I know this is possible) They can do so because the mind is not in the brain but around the brain like a field.  Yes, the brain injury will distort the field, but the mind functions anyway and through the most amazing trauma.  Now that you have a vision of your mind being a field that surrounds you (not just your brain, but the entire body) consider the metaphorical aspect of the objects in your life.

How you live, the level of cleanliness and order is a mirror or metaphor for the thoughts in your mind.  A cluttered desk, house, car, or body reflects the state of your mind!  The level of cleanliness does too.  If you want to know how you are doing just look at your life.  All that you see is a reflection of your thoughts!  This is YOUR life, and it comes from YOUR thoughts.  There is no separation from your thoughts and those thoughts become things in your life!  How else could you experience your thoughts?

The beauty of this is that you have a choice about what you do with these thoughts and/or things.  Cleaning is a way of removing unwanted thoughts.  Organizing and filing is a method of putting your thoughts where they will serve you best.  So when you are going through your car, house, garden, closet, etc., ask yourself, Is this serving me? If so, How? What do I want to do with it?  It is sort of like weeding the garden, you pick out the ones you do not want and toss them away.  When you clean anything, you are focusing on the object (thought) at hand and making it shiny and attractive (giving it energy).  You are actually giving that object permission to exist in your life and in some cases forgiving yourself for creating it in the first place.  I speak here of cleaning up after your loved ones, children, pets, spouse, or even yourself.

Whatever you focus your energy on grows.  This is the Law of Attraction.  The thoughts you have about anything actually take form when given enough energy!  This will work in your favor if you apply it with conscious effort, but when left to the Universe your life will become cluttered with unwanted things that will actually weigh you down and create difficulties for you.  The purpose behind Spring Cleaning and Fall Cleaning is just that, to clear these unwanted thoughts out of your life, to organize the ones you would like to keep and to focus on what you wish to create more of in your life.

Remember Memory

As we revisit the 6 senses of the mind, the next tool our mind offers up is memory.  This can be a double-edged sword, but then so can just about everything in our lives.  One of the main premises to my ministry is “what you focus on grows”.  The power of this can be enhanced though the use of memory.

Do all your memories need to be happy ones to benefit you?  Absolutely not and here is why, gifts are present in every experience we have and if we suppress those feelings or refuse to process those gifts then they turn into obstacles, so even a horrible thing like getting raped or attacked can be a learning opportunity.  The lesson most often learned in this situation is forgiveness and love.  I will let you work out the how’s, because that is the process of learning!

Memory can be used in so many beneficial ways and the simplest is the experience of Joy.  We can feel Joy any time we choose simply by remembering the most Joy filled moment in our lives!  The double-edge here is that it is possible to get caught up in these memories and no longer be living our life, but a past life.  Re-member the feelings of Joy, happiness, contentment and once you have that feeling in heart then go about your business, knowing that any time you need a boost all you have to do is re-member!  Once experienced an event becomes memory and the process of joining with that memory/experience is called remembering or joining again.

Did you know that often times the things we remember never actually happened?  Or at least they did not happen the way we think they did, or did they?  This can get very serious since sometimes people are accused of doing things and in fact did not, even though a witness remembers them doing it.  Our memory can play tricks on us so just be aware of this and use this to everyone’s advantage.  Let go of any memories of anyone being harmed, what was done was done and once you have faced your feelings and processed your emotions, let the whole thing go and move on.   If you are in a difficult situation simply create a memory that will comfort you.  Use the imagination to create an event and then file that in your memory so that the situation is transformed into a pleasant one.  It is perfectly OK to create your life to your liking and in fact I would expect you to.

My motto is to remember that which we desire and forget the rest.  The idea of remembering the past or else you are doomed to repeat it is a bunch of malarkey.  Honor the past yes, but please know that it is an illusion – a fabrication of the mind, for a purpose yes, but still a fabrication.  Choose to re-write your story and be joyous about it just the way it happened.  I remember being abused by a bully when I was young and I look back on that and laugh.  I see what I was doing, allowing myself to be humbled so that my ego would not take control.  I am grateful for all that happened then, the hard times and the good.

Memories that are very old often change over time and get “weeded out” leaving only the pleasant aspects and this is fine, because the purpose of memory is to experience an emotion on demand.  Memories can also be used to navigate and to share knowledge, however it is my belief that memories greatest gift is in the feeling of it.  Can you remember your greatest Joy?  How about your greatest adventure?  What about your best gift received? Or your best gift given!  Knowing where you left your socks is only part of the reason we have memories, so go out and use memory to fill your life with Great Feelings and Pleasant Remembrances.
