We are One

What is Love?

As I was sitting alone at the dinner table it struck me that this could be interpreted as uncaring or unloving to be sitting alone while my partner sits in the other room watching the boob tube.  I could be watching the TV with them.  So why wasn’t I and can Love still exist in this environment? What is the nature of Love anyway?

The nature of Spirit is unfeeling and matter of fact Universal Law.  Spirit is also the embodiment of Love.  Yes, Spirit is Love and Love is Spirit, so how can something that we think of as a caring feeling, Love, be unfeeling and matter of fact?  I would venture to say that only those who have been or are in a relationship with someone they Love deeply can understand this.

For the longest time I tried to understand this feeling of Love.  I did not understand it or even know what it is.  Many people think they know what it is and many feel it and have no idea what they are feeling.  The ego mind wants to divide Love into various parts making each part different, better or worse.  It says that Love for a child is different from Love for a spouse or Love for a pet and on the level of ego they are, but when you are able to experience Love on a Spiritual level you realize that Love is Love, equal in measure and intensity for all beings and all things!  Love is Spirit itself or if you prefer, Love is God.  Each relationship we have exists on two levels either ego mind or Spirit/God.   Be that relationship with our pet dog, loving spouse, or work supervisor.

So as we sit alone at the dinner table our ego is separating us from our Loved one for whatever reason it chooses (which will seem very valid at the time).  The Spirit will not judge the circumstances at all and will simply observe the flavor of the food we eat, the smell of the fresh produce and notice the objects in the room never even questioning the Love that exists between you and your Loved one.   Love is and cannot ever, not be!  So the next time you question the Love you feel, fear not because Love will never abandon you!  Although you may abandon Love….  Just so you are aware of what Love is I am including a poem I wrote a few years ago.  This poem is in my eBook “Livin’ Large – A Journey of Love” which can be purchased at BlessedAwareness.org.

Love Is, a Poem

Love is not exclusive, but Inclusive

Love is not painful, but the Highest JOY

Love is never lost, but exists always

Love is not changing, but constant

Love is not different, but the same at all levels

Love is not wrong, but the answer

Love is Universal!

Love exists regardless of what is happening in your life, in fact

Love exists regardless of your life

Love is something you can share, but cannot prevent another from experiencing, only yourself

Love is the only thing you have more of when you give it away

Love is a feeling, an emotion, an experience, and so much more

Love is life itself

Love is a way of life

Love is an acceptance of all that comes your way

Love is an expression of WHO YOU ARE, who we all are

I AM THAT, I AM

Blessed Season

This time of year has us celebrating our achievements of the past year and making plans for our future.  Each of us is preparing for the transition to the Holiday season by celebrating in our own way.  Tradition usually drives our activities and they do help us to maintain a positive glow this time of year by bringing up pleasant memories of times gone by.  If this is not the case for you then I would suggest making new memories this year and looking to the good in all that happens.  Of course, this is always good idea.

The gifts this year are going to be better than any other year we have experienced.  Why you ask?  Because I am giving my best gift, Love.  It really is all we ever have to give.  Knickknacks and bobbles are nice and so are those new socks, but nothing is more valuable than the feeling of Love.  We do not need material things to feel that!  In fact they often get in the way of our feelings of Love.  We come to expect that new bike or sewing kit we have always wanted and it becomes about what you are getting and not about what you are giving.  Let’s focus on the deeper gifts this year and feel our connection to all that is.  So remember to focus on the Love that we all can put into our gifts this year whether we have material things to give or not.

More importantly let’s see the Christ in every face we see this year!  Chist-mas is about being more centered in our being, thus Christ = centered (metaphysics) and mas = more (Spanish).  This is how I think of this holiday and whatever way you celebrate this season just remember that you are Loved.

Row, Row, Row your Boat…

Transition is a way of life for many of us.  We get so used to change that without it we are lost.  I challenge you to do nothing today!  The very statement is an oxymoron.  The point is that we cannot live in this world without change.  We are constantly shifting from one state to another like the ebb and flow of the tide.  The waves of thought never cease, ever so gently lapping at the shores of our mind.  How about sitting on the bluff above the shore today and simply observe? (of course I mean this figuratively)  Make no judgments, make no decisions, and make no resistance.  Simply enjoy this moment that feels eternal (It is).  What do you see?  What do you feel?  That is OK.  Everything is OK, no matter what thoughts flow through your psyche today.

Each event that occurs in our lives simply leads to a better one.  After “doing nothing” for as long as you can, start choosing your thoughts as they float by like yellow rubber ducky’s on a stream….  Pick one up and see if you like it.  Don’t like it simply put it back in the stream!  Life really is that simple.  If it is not, then it can be!  Thoughts are where our lives begin to materialize, but it is the feelings that give them the fuel to manifest.  Choose a thought, talk about it, feel it as if it were so and be patient.  The Law of Attraction states that if this thought synchronizes with your beliefs then you will physically experience it.

If you would like to know where you stand then simply look around.  This is your creation.  Since change is the way of life, just wait a few minutes it will change!  So appreciate it while you can and if you are really happy with a particular creation, then choose it again.  Gratitude is the gravy that makes our lives worth living.  I am so grateful you have chosen to read this far!  Blessings on your journey 😉

Post Transition Grief continued

In continuing our discussion of transition grief, any situation can create grief, pain or resistance, but actual harm is our perception of what is expected and not from the actual event.  Say you touch the red hot stove, your mind knows that this will burn you and then it produces the burn experience.  This phenomenon has been proven by various groups of researchers and is pretty amazing when you think about it.

Noticing how you feel in each moment of your life is important.  It is a good idea to do a mental inventory of your day before going to bed or at any point in the day so that you can be grateful for that which you enjoyed and for the things you did not enjoy. Even if you did not enjoy an experience you can simply accept it as another experience and release it because it no longer serves you.  It is sort of like choosing apples at the market.  We pick one up, look closely at it, feel it, smell it and simply keep the ones we want putting the others back.

As I mentioned before there is a simple method of dealing with the issues as they arise in our lives.  It is important to develop this attitude before they arise so that it is automatic.  Some doctors may call this a coping mechanism, I simply know that this works because I have used it many times.  It has become a way of life for me.  Here is what you do each and every time you have an experience, simply say to yourself, YES.

Yes, I accept this event, experience, situation, because I know that I am meant to be here or I would not be here!  YES, YES, YES!  In the process of having the faith to say yes no matter what, we are released from any harmful effects the event may have otherwise created.  You see it is our attitude and belief about what happens to us that determines the outcome.  All sorts of things are going to happen, that is the nature of transition, just remember that good and bad are up to you to decide and even if you decide that it is bad, painful or a disaster be thankful for the experience and choose to never go through that again.  Let go of the experience in the process of choosing who you are, and stay focused on your desires while forgetting the rest!  Our lives can truly be Heaven on earth if we decide that is what we desire.  So open your eyes and your heart and see the beauty this awesome world has to offer.

Post Transition Grief and the working of the mind

Post transition grief or some call it Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).  Whatever you call it, I just know that it is a part of change.  Any transition involves some stress, grief and pain.  Our attitudes and beliefs about the transition process will determine the degree in which we experience trauma.

The symptoms that result afterwards depend on how deep our experience went and how well we processed the whole event.  One of the characteristics of this condition is an inability to stop thinking about the transition or event.  Basically we get stuck looking in the rear view mirror and forget to look forward.  Driving blind is always dangerous and so is not getting help when we notice that we are having a hard time letting go of the past.

The intensity of our dreams and the nature of our behavior are clues also to needing help.  Usually there is a reason we are not letting go and it is often because the event brought up an old issue that has not been dealt with. If we choose not to address issues as they arise then they are put “on file” to be dealt with later.  It is always best to deal with issues as soon as you can, because it is easier that way.

Let me explain “dealing with an issue”, I mean facing it, seeing it for what it is and accepting it.  This can be done in a flash or it can take years!  We simply have to be willing to do it.  Later I give you a great method for applying this.  Traumatic events are harder to process because in the heat of the event much of available data goes straight into subconscious because the conscious mind shuts down when it is attacked (or perceives attack).  Then a long process must begin to bring it up out of subconscious so that we can “deal” with it.  I realize that I am speaking in generalities here and I am doing so because it is important to realize that transition grief can occur in many situations that we would not even consider being important.

To re-emphasis this point, transition grief and PTSD differ in degree only.  Regret for the decisions made is something different and that is another discussion that maybe I will cover at a later date.  I will stop here today because I don’t want these entries to be so long.  Check back tomorrow for the “rest of the story”.

Job, A new world

Daily jobs are very important to the workings of society, but our economic system is being rewritten out of necessity, because it is no long sustaining us. Jobs will change accordingly. New jobs will be sprouting up like daisies while many old jobs are becoming obsolete. We have seen this phenomena portrayed in the movies as technology takes over certain jobs, this creates other jobs in new fields such as machine maintenance and computer programming. Corporations that thrive are the ones who embrace change and forge a niche for themselves in the new world, much as our founding fathers did when they came to this country some five centuries ago.

Many people believe that they came to find religious freedom and that was a small part of it, but mostly it was the corporations of Europe, mostly England that were looking for growth possibilities. They found them at the expense of the native peoples of America and many other countries around the globe. This transition was indeed bloody and painful for all involved, but I believe that nothing happens without our consent on some level. The native people did not realize they had given consent for this kind of growth, but on a Spiritual level they knew. It was part of the growth of consciousness which is inevitable. So do not feel bad for either side in history because what was meant to be, will be. I hold the Native Americans in great esteem for the honor and wisdom in which they live life. The same goes for the natives of Africa and Australia and all the other players we have in the world, they are all part of the larger expansion in human consciousness.

Growth does not have to be painful though and we are discovering this now as the world is leaping into a new age of harmonious, fulfilling, and peaceful living. This is the role of the frequency holder to see this reality and hold this vision out for all to see! As we live the life of our dreams, holding to the ideals we have envisioned, and the number of other people doing this reaches a certain tipping point, all the world will follow suit in a cascading like effect. Can you envision an ideal world? What would it be like? I have written about this before in the article “An Enlightened Society” which shares my vision for the world l would like to live in. The article can be found on the website where this blog is located, BlessedAwareness.org. I invite you to share your vision in the comments below, and if not here then share with your partner, friends and family, because this is how we grow. We hold a vision, share that all around, even write a book about it, and eventually our dreams become reality. As I have said a thousand times, be careful what you wish for you might just get it!

Have a Blessed Day 😉 Sequoia Elisabeth

Jobs, Who made this big mess?

Many of us are looking for jobs in this economy which seems to be very unforgiving.  How did this situation arise and why?  There are several ways to look at it, such as the whole world is changing through globalization and we must change with it.  In fact we should be leading the way if we truly are leaders in the world.  Incomes will be balancing with those around the world so that equality becomes the reality and not the goal.  Another way to look at it would be in cycles.  Our economy runs in cycles like most things do in this world.  Trends go up as far as possible and then CRASH, only to work themselves back up, although under the surface permanent changes have occurred in the form of overall growth.  It is sort of like blowing up a balloon, blow in and it expands, take a breath and it shrinks a bit, blow in and it expands further, but in our scenario there is no completion.  The cycle continues on and on into infinity.  Some liken this process to the breath of God and that certainly works for me, it is up to you what you believe.  On a deeper level the changes we are seeing could be the silence before the storm so to speak with the approaching 2012 shift and the Age of Aquarius.  This time is related to our inner growth as human beings and the expansion of consciousness itself.  What we are experiencing is evolution!  What grander Transition could there be!  Each of us is a cog in the wheel of time witnessing the greatest transformation our little blue ball has ever experienced. I really hope you hang around to see the show.  This is where things get interesting, because we each have a different perspective of life, each of us will experience this shift in a different way.  Some will be blown away, literally.  Some will experience it as the same ole, same ole, while others will see things as they are for the very first time in their lives.

Let me get back to the job aspect of all this and say that we each have a role to play in the evolution of consciousness and as the larger part of life grows and expands so will we since we are this greater consciousness.  Some people like President Obama will be major players in the process while others like myself and possibly you (it is up to you to decide) will be frequency holders ( a term coined by Eckhart Tolle).  Others will be oblivious to the whole process since they are essentially sleeping through the whole event, like a person who fell asleep at the movies.  WAKE UP!  Tomorrow I will go further into each of these roles and where you fit in.  Have a Blessed day 😉  Sequoia Elisabeth

Awareness of the Journey

What transition are you in right now?  How is it going?  My ministry is focused on raising the awareness of each person I meet or that visits my website.  For those who are aware of the journey life is so much simpler, richer and more meaningful.  I love to sit and think about how much I adore the people in my life and how much I love a world where Love is the rule and not the exception.  The older I become the deeper this realization becomes.  Life is not about what you see is what you get, but rather what you believe is what you see!  We all want our illusion to match our dream and unfortunately things do not work that way in this world.  It is often difficult to discover the Truth, but rest assured it does exist.  In fact it is the only thing that does exist!  All that we see is an illusion.  I often feel like I live in a house of mirrors with this illusion being reflected in so many different ways.  Part of the journey of change we are all on is to let go of the illusions and get to the Truth.  Our simple awareness that this is our journey and our acceptance of it will open many doors for us.  ACIM (A course in miracles) teaches that the ego is the master of illusions and when we feel like we are distant or something is happening to create separation in our lives then that is the ego at work.  All we need do is to acknowledge that and laugh to ourselves with a calm reserve.  “Resistance is Futile”

Welcome to Transitions Blog!

In this blog I talk about the transition that all of us are going through in some form or another. My personal transition is from male to female and I will be talking about that often, but more important is the shift the entire world is going through and how this relates to you. Comments are welcomed.

This is my first entry which is about transitions and what they mean to you. The word Transition means movement, passage, or change from one position, state, stage, subject, concept, etc., to another. It is often a very long process involving years and involves physical, mental, and/or spiritual changes. In relation to gender it is the period when a person begins living in the desired gender in gradual stages. In some form or another we all go through transitions, some people may think of them as life stages or phases.  Our teenage years are a stage that we go through in our development to be adults.  The Mid-life stage which some call a crisis is also a transitional period that involves a lot of change, passage or movement.  At a higher level our entire life is a transition, which can be broken down into smaller transitions and finally to the present moment which is where you are now.  This is why I so often refer to life as a journey, because it is a passage from one experience to the next!  The happiest time of my childhood is when our family went on a two week vacation in a motorhome all across the west.  We went from one exciting experience to the next none stop for two weeks, I was in heaven!  For many of us transitions are a way of life, although some people want to call them “dramas” instead.  How we view life is basic to our experiences, so the choice is ours.  We can see what we don’t have and be upset about it all the time, fighting with everyone because they have what we want or are preventing us from getting, or we can accept our experiences as gifts and be grateful for them.  Focusing instead on what we do have and holding a vision of what we desire.  When is the last time you counted your blessings?   I am very grateful to be alive to share these thoughts with you and I am even more grateful for you to be reading these words that flow through me like water on a meadering stream.  I invite you to “row, row, row your boat gently down the stream” of Transitions and join me on this daily blog.  I want this blog to be meaningful and uplifting so if a daily entry seems like it is getting a bit too much I may cut back to weekly.  Hopefully I will be getting some feedback and will not have to guess.  Let me know how you enjoy the message and feel free to share this with your friends.  Blessings to all who read this!  😉  Sequoia Elisabeth
