We are One

Celebrate Diversity

Sexual expression comes in many different flavors, and is possibly as unique as the number of people on our beautiful blue planet.   The old school wants us to conform to the old ‘boy meets girl, girl has baby’ scenario and while that does serve its purpose as a race we are moving beyond that.  Relationships are so much more than adding one more baby to the rising population, or even the aspect of replacing the self.  The world may appear to be a binary system with only men and women, but I can assure you it is not.

Sexual orientation is an aspect of gender that Dr. Carl Bushong describes as “Brain Sex”.  “Our love/sex patterns, and how we relate to others on a social and interpersonal as well as sexual level, often referred to as our “Sexual Orientation”.” (1995) This aspect, like gender identity, is hard wired from birth, which means our brains, being much like a computer, are programmed to be attracted to certain physical attributes, genders and personalities.

To restrict every person on the planet, all 6.8 Billion +, to being either heterosexual or homosexual is unrealistic.  Instead it is much more feasible that each person on earth has their own unique sexuality which falls into several categories.  The categories as they exist today are, heterosexual, homosexual, asexual, bisexual, and pansexual.  There are a few other words being used but overlap these so I will stick with this list.  Within each category will be a sliding scale so that each person falls somewhere on the scale and is not necessary stuck exactly in that spot, although they will stay within a category.

Just briefly hetero means opposite sex attraction, homo means same sex attraction, the (a) in asexual means no sexual attraction, the (bi) in bisexual means both sexual attraction, and the (pan) in pansexual means all sexual attraction.  I do not like the term bisexual because it implies there are only two sexes, male and female.  This is the old world paradigm and no longer works (if it ever worked).  Pansexual includes everyone and applies to anyone that is sexual but not strictly attracted to the opposite or same sex.  This term is far more appropriate in today’s society.

The whole labeling game gets a little absurd after a while because the terms become contradictory and putting people into boxes is both confining and inaccurate. For instance, a transwoman who is attracted to women is lesbian or are they heterosexual since they were born into a male body?  And what about the woman who was attracted to this person not realizing they were transgender?  Does that make them a lesbian?  So what if it does?

The world is coming out!  We are becoming more aware of gender identity and sexual orientation, which is leading to more understanding and eventually to more acceptance.  I ask only that you stay away from the labels as much as possible and simply love the person.  This is why I like the Pansexual label best because it is defined as “A sexual orientation characterized by the potential for aesthetic attraction, romantic love and/or sexual desire for people, regardless of their gender identity or biological sex.” (http://en.wiktionary.org/wiki/pansexuality#English, 2010)

Who you are attracted to should not be grounds for discrimination. (In reality there are no grounds for discrimination) Could you imagine if the world judged you on the grounds of your attraction to hair color?  “Oh you like redheads, uggg or ewww”!   Actually Blondes often get joked about and while it may be in fun, it is only fun to the person joking.  Sexual orientation is just another of many category’s that are used to separate or define humans.  Being unique is a gift, and it makes us lovable and desirable.  Just think of a rare diamond or rare flower.  Uniqueness is a desirable trait in our society, so why not extend that to your relationships.  Celebrate differences and LOVE the person – stop separating!  We are One – one big family of Human.

Vision For Tomorrow Cont.

This is a continuation from yesterday and the day before.  In the perfect society all land is community land so we can live and work any place we choose.  Ownership is a concept that is no longer necessary since we all realize that we are One and that which benefit’s the One benefits all.  In this state of oneness we realize that another’s discomfort is the same as our own so we happily share all our resources with anyone who asks.  Meaning that if you need shelter you stay where ever you are with whomever you desire in whatever accommodation there is.  No one questions another’s actions because they share the same mind and we all get along perfectly because Love is who we are and everyone knows this and expresses this.

Communication is easy too, since we all understand universal language and our thoughts are shared through a mental web that covers the whole world, much like the web of satellites that orbited earth in the past. Telepathy is common place and is encouraged.  There is no need for privacy since we are of one mind.  Our mind is much more capable of handling all the communications we receive now, because our DNA has evolved to 12 strands and our brains have developed millions more neural fiber connections which we fully utilize.

Since we all have infinite abundance, as mentioned yesterday, we only work when we choose to and it is doing that which we enjoy making all work voluntary. There are no requirements, laws or limitations in a perfect society because we all realize and respect that we are each a part of the whole and to harm another is to harm the self.  Personal style, piercings, tattoos, gender, sexual orientation and race are seen as enhancing diversity.

Sickness and dis-ease are unheard of.  Every person is healthy and would not consider being otherwise since there simply is no reason to be unhealthy.  Plus since we all have everything we could desire there is nothing to fight over and no need to take things that are being used by another.  Synchronicity is the rule here and as we move about and interact events occur in a convenient manner for all concerned.  If you have the thought to visit your friend across town your thoughts connect and you instantly know if it is a good time, what to wear, if you need to bring anything, and any pertinent information.  As the Joy between you grows you are teleported there.

Many would consider this place Heaven and it is where we all can live right now if we so choose.  What you see around you is what you have chosen in this moment of now for whatever reasons.  As our thoughts change so does our experience.  As our experience changes so does awareness.  Enlightenment is simply awareness of our oneness of being.  It is a shift in consciousness!  Not only is a perfect society possible it is inevitable as each person on earth realizes that they are the perfection they seek.  It is simply a matter of choosing to see the perfection that already exists.

I challenge you to be creative and follow your heart.  Let your mind go, move beyond any limits you perceive, and see the perfection.  As we learn to accept the world as it is, then our awareness will grow to the point where our desires are met instantly.  Share your vision of a perfect society with everyone.  Talk about it like it is already true, it is!

Vision For Tomorrow

This is a continuation from yesterday.  We are focusing on the future and the world we would like to live in.  This is my version; however, I am more than open to your version.  Of course you can live in any world you would like, it simply takes being open to the possibilities while focusing on your desires.  What I am attempting to do here is to present my version of a perfect society and get you to envision your perfect society as well, because what we focus on grows and the more you focus on your dreams the closer you are to experiencing them.  The future is in your hands!

First of all basic human needs and rights are to be considered in any discussion of a perfect society and include things as personal security, love, self-esteem, personal fulfillment, cultural security, and participation, plus a right to life, liberty, freedom of thought, expression and identity, and equal treatment before the law.  Each of these elements effects society on both an individual basis as well as on the organizational level. To me it is pretty straight forward and common sense. It is also something that deserves attention because what you focus on grows. We all desire a better world and my outlook is simple. The simpler we make our lives the easier it is to meet those above mentioned needs and rights. So here is my vision of a perfect society.

Society is based on unity in diversity, where individuals are as important as organizations and where everyone’s needs are met. We need not be so concerned with the how’s and why’s but on the what’s, when’s and where’s. What would a perfect society look like? When and where is this possible?

War is obsolete in the perfect society because each person understands that no one individual or organization is better or above another. It is a world where we each as individuals respect and love one another seeing the oneness in each person they meet. Despite the apparent differences we all know that we are connected through the One. We are extensions of Great Spirit who is here to bring Peace and Love to every being, place and thing in our earthly world.

Since we realize that thought creates, we use the power of imagination to teleport our bodies anywhere we want to go simply by thinking of the place and giving it a Loving Thought. Everyone who lives here is healthy and productive each playing an important role in the operation and events of life here. The environment is a comfortable temperature at all times and if one desires something different, then there are different climates all around the world to teleport to and enjoy.

We all realize that there is infinite abundance, so no one wants or has more than they need at that time. If something is desired it is easily available thru the object library replicator.  Material “things” are no longer valued because each person has whatever it is they desire in that moment…. The story continues tomorrow and in the meantime consider the life you would like to live.

Divine Feminine Returns

Divine Feminine is resurging in both our individual lives as well as the collective.  If you look around you will see the breaking down of many masculine and male dominated systems.  The Dali Lama is quoted as saying that “the western woman will be our saviors”.  Why is that and what is going on in the world to warrant a savior?

The last 4000 years for the most part have been an adventure of masculine energy guiding our path and forging most cultures of the world, however the past 300 years or more the pendulum has reversed its swing in the other direction.  Divine Feminine is arising to balance the masculine and to bring peace to our planet once again.  Many world leaders are seeing this and it has been forecast by the Maya, the Hopi and many other societies of the past.  This is the age of Aquarius, the birth of 1000 years of peace!

Embracing Divine Feminine will lead you where you need to be.  We as a collective society must let go of the old masculine ways and embrace the healing, nurturing ways of Divine Feminine.  The world is on the verge of collapse and many changes are occurring daily as the old regime is crumbling.  This is the perfect opportunity to change the world, to rebuild it with Loving and caring femininity.  It is time to step into a passive role and allowing posture so that Mother Earth may heal.  Let’s take a step back from all the activity and masculine forces, take a deep breath and allow balance to return here on Earth!  You are the savior of your life regardless of whether you are male, female both or neither.  Consciousness is aware that it is aware and a shift is occuring as you read this.  Just as the poles of the earth are shifting from north to south so is the energy shifting from masculine to feminine.  It is important in all this change to stay focused on what is important to you, to allow the inner healing of your heart and hold a vision for the life you would like to live.  The next few blogs will be focusing on a vision of the future, so stay tuned and please share your ideas.

Perspectives

Transition is a journey of perspectives that includes yours and theirs.  The only way to truly know your perspective though is to place it up next to other perspectives.  When combined they all make up the whole or the big picture.  No one person ever sees the big picture, however you can get an idea of the big picture and see a bigger picture with intention and practice.

Seeing the world through the eyes of those you encounter is one of the greatest gifts you can receive.  Not that your perspective is not important, but as I said, it is other perspectives that give yours meaning.  Let’s look at some examples so you can get a better idea of what I am talking about.  Let’s just say you are watching a movie about a topic that is close to your heart.  You are looking at someone else’s perspective of a topic you are excited about and if you like the movie that means that their perspective is close to yours or at least that you can relate it to yours.

You may remember me talking about the mirror effect and that everything you see in the world is of your own creation.  It is a reflection of who you are.  It is important to honor others perspectives because they are inadvertently showing you an aspect of who you are.  Of course you are more than what you may see in a movie, or at a sporting event, but this is one way to see things.

What if everything you have ever experienced is a gift from you to you?  Something to consider, yes?  The other thing I would like to point out about perspective is that when you put yourself in someone else’s shoes and see things as they do, it gives you so much more understanding and information on what is actually occurring.  We refer to this as point of view which is different than perspective.  A point of view is a person vantage point, a culmination of experiences put a person in a certain place to view from.  A perspective is more of a situational choice of what to believe about the experience.  Perspective is how you see things and a point of view is more like why you see things the way you do.

A person who has been discriminated against all their life is going to have a different point of view on equal rights than someone who has never been questioned or discriminated against.  The two can have similar perspectives though if they both are choosing to.  A positive social perspective can be the same for each individual, but their point of view must be different.  When I share my ideas and points of view here in this blog it is in order to give you another perspective to see things by.  In doing so we are both deepened in our understandings of the workings of the world.

What is Transition?

What is this thing called transition and why do I care?  The basic term is fairly simple and broad in meaning.  It simply means change, a change from one state of being to another.  The key word here is being.  This is a state of being not doing.  Doing is not involved in transition.  There is nothing you can “do” to transition.

Once you think about this for a few minutes you will realize the profoundness of this statement.  I will repeat it so you can get your head around this, there is nothing you can “do” to transition!  It matters not what type of transition you are experiencing either.  The transition can be gender related, work related, life style related or whatever.  Transition is about beingness, not doing.   This can appear to be shifting, and you may have different experiences and points of view, but your beingness will not change.

Mahatma Gandhi is quoted as saying, “Be the change you desire to see in the world”.  So what does this mean?  It means that your state of being is a product of your desires.  If you are being a woman then your are one and this goes for whatever you are being.  What you “do” does not matter.   If you move to a new home far away does this change your state of being?  If you wear the clothes of the opposite sex does this change who you are being?

What I am saying here is transition envolves a lot more than just changing your behavior, location or circumstances.  Transition is a change in beingness at the very core of who you are.  As an example the transgender community and others often talk about all the physical changes involved, but rarely do they discuss the deep inner changes required to fully transition.  Getting SRS or Breast augmentation does not change who you are or who you are being!

Cis-gender women and men rarely even consider their gender, it is their state of being that to them (the self) is perfectly natural.  To a transgender person however there state of beingness seems off and they desire to change or transition to a state that is harmonious.  In order to successfully transition then a person must change from being a man to being a woman or vice versa.

My question to you is this, Are you being the person you desire to be?  Are you male or female, man or woman?  Can a male ever be female?  This is like asking if a dog can ever be a cat!!!

Self-Acceptance Key

The key to self-acceptance is first of all finding out who you are.  This is not as simple as it may seem.  The person you see in the mirror is not necessarily who you are.  The body is more like a vehicle than who you are.  Just like your car is not who you are neither is your body.  Getting to the point where you are a happy with the image in the mirror and with yourself is sometimes a long road.  There is no right way to get there either so leave the GPS at home and instead use your intuition.

Introspection comes easily for some of us and much harder for others, so if you are one of those who does not like to look within, then this will be even more important to you, although you may need to get help.

The journey goes something like this, look in the mirror what do you see?  Ok, this is your vehicle.  It was given you for a reason and most likely that reason is that it will take you where you need to go, not necessarily where you want to go.  Right here and now, STOP thinking you know where you are going.  Stop thinking you know who you are.  Let go of any preconceptions you may have acquired.  Each day is a new day and one with the potential to discover yourself.

Now that you have discovered your vehicle go take it for a ride.  Test the cornering ability, the acceleration, and the stopping distance.  See how good you are at changing situations, demands on your services or skills, and how well you can say no.  Once you learn to say no, then you can move on and learn to say Yes.  No is easy, but Yes carries responsibilities.  Of course this will lead to rewards also.  On the road keep a notebook with you and record your best features, skills and attributes.  Get to know what you are good at and what you need work on.

You have a long list now and are ready to pursue this even further.  Stay focused on the desirable features, skills and attributes.  The ones you really like and have already accepted.  Staying motivated at this level is about focusing on your good attributes and if you noticed any undesirable attributes on the list you can acknowledge them, thank them for being a part of you and then letting them go.  To symbolize this write them down on a piece of paper.  In a safe location, burn the paper while thinking of your desires.  What are you grateful for?  What is next for you?  Be optimistic and joyful, you have just let go of all your troubles.

The process continues and goes deeper each time.  Life will evolve and get better and better!  Before you know it love and acceptance will exist in you on a deeper level than you even knew existed!

Remember a few things along the way.  Everything happens for a reason (unless you decide it doesn’t), Resistance is futile, and everyone is going to the same place, only in different ways, through different means, and from different perspectives.  Joy is in the journey!

MtoF Transition

The usual course of transition for a MtoF transsexual is to first dress as a woman and to socialize with your peers prior to taking the major step of CHT or Contra-Hormone Therapy.  Crossdressing and socialization does not need to be on a full time basis, although according the World Professional Association for Transgender Health (WPATH) they do recommend full time dress for at least a year before surgery.  Socializing as a woman is very different than as a man so getting used to that aspect is greatly beneficial in both determining if you desire to progress and gaining the skills necessary to be successful.  Many things will come naturally for you such as mannerisms, emotional behavior including your needs and desires, and mental processes, because these are wired into the brain.  What may not be so natural is movement, social expectations and relationships, because these are learned.  Transition is basically the process of breaking down our learned “male” persona and allowing our natural female self to emerge.

It is important to be patient with the transition process and allow these things to occur naturally, although counseling, feminine coaching, and voice therapy do play an important part.  A skilled counselor can guide your path and point out aspects that are not natural if they are not obvious and help you get in touch with your authentic self.  The feminine coach is valuable in helping you to get in touch with feminine energy and develop its expression.  I must say the first time I felt my feminine energy vs. my masculine energy it was a revelation!  Being aware of our body’s energy and what we are projecting is very important.  For women to truly be feminine for instance do not project that energy, simply center yourself in it and this simple act will attract others.  This is the nature of receptive feminine energy.  I have posted a link on the gender links page of my website to The Yin Project who I highly recommend.

Voice therapy is very important also and I suggest that you start this process as soon as possible, even before transitioning if you are planning that far ahead, which most of us do not.  Please see these recommended links.  I also recommend getting electrolysis started as soon as possible and depending on your age, I recommend doing laser first to clear the dark hairs and let the electrologist focus on the light hairs.  Don’t let the electrologist tell you that laser is not permanent because I know that it is from experience.   Links on this website page go over the whole process of transition planning, so this blog will stay focused on what to expect.  More info can be found on the website.  Expect laser to work and with about 6-8 treatments the dark hairs are gone for good.  Multiple treatments are necessary because of the growth cycles of hair, and just ask the person doing the hair removal to explain.  With the proper hormone regimen the face is the only area to be concerned with unless you are unusually hairy and I know that some men are.  That is OK (it doesn’t mean anything, unless you say it does, lol).

The hormones do a remarkable job of reducing body hair and stopping male pattern hair loss.  Find a doctor who specializes in CHT for transgender/transsexual persons, because doing this yourself or using a doctor with little or no experience is setting yourself up for failure.  It can be done on your own, but that is contrary to what this whole journey is about in my opinion, which is to fully and completely experience the transition.  Many transwomen want to jump straight to the result and if that was the way it was meant to be then don’t you think that you would have been female from birth?  Please remember this blog is from my experience and if you desire a different experience then make it so.  More on this subject can be found here.

Conscious Convergence

The concept of oneness is growing in acceptance and yet many still do not understand the full meaning of the word. Let me shed some light on this for all of us.  At the end of this section I pasted an article on the coming conscious convergence on July 17 and beyond.  Those who are aware can take full advantage of this awesome time in history.  Are you AWAKE?

Oneness is all inclusive and very simple in concept, but the reality in this ego world is that separation is struggling to maintain a hold on your life. This shows up in turmoil, conflict and loneliness. The only way to move beyond the illusion of separation is to embrace it and see it for what it is; an illusion. When something comes up that you recognize as separation, simply acknowledge it, see beyond it and then just leave separation behind as a concept. Ignore it, it has no power. Instead focus on the Truth. The Truth is that we are One, unified and whole being. We are Gaia! Oneness is Unity expressed, it is ‘love thy neighbor as thy loves oneself’, it is making decisions with the consideration of seven generations to come, it is knowing we are all made of ‘Starstuff’, and it is so much more. Oneness is the realization that everyone you meet is a part of Great Spirit, Universal Intelligence, or God, just like you are, and that you have that in common with everything as well as everyone you meet. Each person is individual and connected at the same time. What you give, you give to yourself, since we are all one. What you deny for another, you deny yourself. When you heal yourself, you heal the world! You are using the same mind as Albert Einstein, Mother Theresa or anyone else.   You are ONE with GOD, in a word you are GOD, expressing as the individual that you are. Each form or “thing” you see is unique onto itself. This means that no two snowflakes are the same and yet a snowflake is like all other snowflakes, but not identical. This goes for all other forms as well. This is why when you meet someone new they are unique and yet they are YOU.

The only constant in this universe is change, so embrace change and honor each form you meet. When life is lived from a place of Oneness we become aware of the bond that connects all of life.

“What is arising now is not a new belief system, a new religion, spiritual ideology, or mythology. We are coming to the end not only of mythologies but also of ideologies and belief systems.  The change goes deeper than the content of your mind, deeper than your thoughts.  In fact, at the heart of the new consciousness lies the transcendence of thought, a newfound ability of rising above thought, of realizing a dimension within yourself that is infinitely more vast than thought.” (Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth, Page 21-22).

This dimension is the Oneness I speak of. It is something that must be experienced to truly know what it is, but once that connection is made it is a part of you and cannot be lost. In fact it is constantly growing. This is so much larger than “you”! Can you feel it?  We are witnessing our own evolution! Like the Renaissance Age of the 14th to 17th centuries this last 300 yrs or so could be remembered as the Age of Awakening!   This age is culminating Dec 21, 2012, and is a doorway to the beginning of a new age, the age of Infinite Possibilities. This is according to Ian Xel Lungold in his “Mayan 2012 secrets reveled.” We need not rely on one person’s interpretation here however, because we are all ONE. As we become more aware of this dimension beyond thought it is easy to see that Ian is right on the mark! Ian speaks of the mind as a tool that we use to experience our world. This tool can shape our future or it can trap us. By simply being aware of this we are shining light on the shadows and allowing ourselves to move beyond thought.

One of the leading scholars studying the Mayan calendar, Carl Johan Calleman, (Ian Lungold’s mentor) has called for a time of worldwide unity in resonance with the coming energies predicted by the Mayan calendar. Most people still think these energies won’t influence us until December of 2012. But Dr. Calleman argues that this wave of consciousness, called the Universal wave, will begin making an impact in March of 2011. Not only that, we can come into resonance with this coming energy now, in a harmonic-like convergence occurring on July 17, 2010.The preparations to facilitate the Conscious Convergence, July 17‐18, 2010 have now begun. Even if it will need the support and active collaboration of a large number of people the snowball has started rolling. Very possibly, this will become an event that influences the course of our civilization by setting the intention to manifest unity consciousness on a large scale with the ninth wave of the Maya calendars. I would then now like to share my own vision of the Conscious Convergence, and what it may accomplish, in an article that does not have too much technical detail.

Over the time period since the Harmonic Convergence in August of 1987, and maybe even earlier than that, an increasing number of people, and not just a few select mystics, have come to directly experience states of unity with all things and a purposeful direction in their own lives. Yet, although sometimes such experiences may have been enlightening or blissful, they have not come to alter the way our world at large operates. While this fact may not surprise us there is really no reason that this should be taken as a given. Such experiences, sometimes resulting from spiritual practices, have clearly been at odds with both the predominating materialist worldview and the one that sees the divine as something separate from us. An increasing number of people have thus come to directly experience that some “energies” greater than themselves are working to provide guidance for them. In everyday parlance we talk about certain things having been “meant to happen” and other things “not meant to happen.” This direct experience of guiding energies is a relatively recent undercurrent of our civilization. It also intensifies as the frequency of shifts between calendrical energies increases as we approach the completion of the Mayan calendars. It is as if, through this frequency increase, the cosmic plan is now calling us to wake up and realize that we are here for a reason and that the universe has a plan. This ongoing awakening has generated a fairly widespread perception that the end of the Mayan calendars will bring a “shift in consciousness”.

Such experiences are of course made sense of in a multitude of different ways, sometimes in terms of divine intervention or astrology, depending on the individual. Yet, they always seem to imply that the universe has a higher purpose. The perception of such a purposeful direction may be the least common denominator for those that will chose to participate in the Conscious Convergence. On my own part I have come to understand what is “meant” and “not meant” to happen primarily from the broad perspective of the Mayan calendars, simply because of the vast body of scientific evidence showing that the energies these describe have been driving evolution in all of its aspects from the beginning of time.

In parallel with the increase in individual experiences of guidance there have also been a number of initiatives to organize meditations or other global spiritual events on special days that often focus on a positive cause such as peace. What I feel we need to realize however is that despite these experiences of individual or collective unity, those that embody them still remain largely fragmented. As yet, the intention to manifest unity consciousness has thus not been firmly anchored in our world. Someone who meditates is perceived as doing so as a private act and as part of his or her individual path. A meditation to heal the earth is seen as a basically uncommitted event of a day or two before things go back to “business as usual”. In society at large and its media it is relegated to a fringe phenomenon, despite the large number of people embracing it. I however feel that the Conscious Convergence will be, and has to be, a unique event that is something more than just another global meditation. It is about anchoring an intention to manifest unity consciousness on an ongoing basis.

The current fragmentation of both individuals and groups is a critical point. It is here I believe the Conscious Convergence will enter into the picture to give hope and visions for the future. Part of the reason that the intention towards unity consciousness has not been anchored in the consensus reality is that events may not have gathered a critical mass. I feel however that a more important factor has been that individual experiences and events have not always been perceived as steps in a cosmic time plan that has a clear direction towards unity consciousness. This absence of a context in time has probably had much more far reaching consequences than most people recognize. It has affected not only the role of those that have become awakened, but also a broad range of grass root movements focusing on progressive socioeconomic change. If such movements are unable to see how their aspirations are part of a cosmic time plan for the planet they too will be fragmented and their fruits often be temporary or incorporated in the already existing dualist civilization.

The fragmentation of the experiences of unity consciousness, and the absence of a collectively existing intention to manifest this, thus have consequences that go farther, much farther, than most people would tend to believe. It influences a very high number of organizations and projects that are potentially healthy to our planet because these, and the social movements they give rise to, exist without a context in time. All such movements that intend to manifest a world of unity consciousness may thus benefit from their participation in the Conscious Convergence exactly because this provides such a temporal framework. From this also follows an interest of the powers that be to suppress information about the Mayan calendar that may serve as inspiration and encouragement for those desiring a new course for our civilization.

The big media, including but not limited to Hollywood, have thus touted a distorted view of the Mayan calendar as simply a date in the future when something dramatic is supposed to happen. It is here almost irrelevant whether this change is seen as positive or negative, since such a view is so totally at odds with the Mayan calendar to begin with. The message of the media has thus been: “Do not take responsibility for co-creating the future! Just wait and see!” Nothing could be further from a Mayan perspective, and the truth, than an obsession with a singular date in the future, when something is supposed to just fall down on us from the sky. The Mayan calendar describes processes, processes that have been going on from the beginning of time and step by step have been lifting human beings to higher frames of consciousness. As part of this, humanity is now heading towards the initiation of a new process, the ninth wave that is meant to take us to a place of unity consciousness where we have never been before. Hence, the solutions of the past are not particularly likely to be applicable and so we are now called to develop a new level of creativity.

The Mayan calendars have thus come to be perceived in a disempowering way, rather than as guiding tools for positive social and spiritual transformation. The reason for this is mainly that it is not generally known that there is not merely one, but in fact nine, calendars that are about to be completed. Each of these calendars describes a wave movement of evolution and it is the ninth of these that is designed to bring the unity consciousness that represents the current hope of mankind as it provides a necessary starting point for the birth of a new world. Yet, unless there is a conscious collective intention to affirm this ninth wave what is the likelihood that this will manifest? One might even ask whether without such an intention to manifest unity consciousness, anyone has reason to complain if it is not brought forth? To have this happen we need to align with this calendar in time, otherwise I believe we will lose our power to influence the course of events. The Conscious Convergence is thus set so that we will be able to prepare ourselves for the coming energies in advance and so be able to align with them. Unlike the Harmonic Convergence in 1987 that was a relatively spontaneous event, I, for one, believe that the Conscious Convergence in 2010, due to the current high speed of time, will need to be unified by a common intention in order to make a difference. As we approach the simultaneous manifestation of the nine waves there will be complicated overlapping of waves that may be difficult to surf without such a shared intention.

My vision for the Conscious Convergence is that it will be an event that helps people break out of the current constraints and fragmentation and facilitates for us to co‐create our future especially as now many of the established structures of society may be falling apart. With the impending unity consciousness many things that are not consistent with this are in fact becoming visible in the new light. An increasing number of people are losing faith in churches (Ireland and US), mosques (Iran) as well as bankers and politicians (all over), and so much of the previous functioning of the world may be overturned. It then becomes all the more important to establish an intention of manifesting unity consciousness as a basis for novel solutions. I however do not think that the Conscious Convergence is for those that contend themselves by pointing out and criticizing all the negative aspects of our current world and its system of rule. Rather it is for those that want to create a more positive intention, anchor this broadly and manifest it in the world.

An intention to manifest unity consciousness thus does not only serve to guide ourselves or our individual development, but here it also refers to the possibility that it may guide our civilization at large. Such a collectively shared intention held by a critical mass of people may start to live a life of its own and give a direction to a wide variety of projects. If this is to happen it is however critical that the intention is authentically held and not coming from a desire to look good in our own eyes, or in those of our friends, teachers or gurus. Only an intention authentically shared by a critical mass of sovereign individuals may play a positive role for co‐creating our future. Conscious Convergence then means that it is for people who are conscious of their intentions.

Unity consciousness does not mean conformism or that everyone is shaped in the same mold to think or look alike. Rather, unity consciousness will generate a world that is the very opposite to conformist. Because unity consciousness is about transcending the judgmental dualities and inherent dominance mentality generated by lower waves it allows for a much wider variety of viewpoints and life styles than previously. Thus, the Conscious Convergence refers to the coming together, convergence, of people from many different walks of life with very different backgrounds and viewpoints to express and experience a shared intention for the future.

The two initial days, July 17‐18, 2010, may be days for individual experiences of awakening as well as a collective expression of a new commitment to climb to the highest level of the Mayan calendar and co‐create a world truly based on peace. I for one however do not believe that the continued climb will be easy and no one knows exactly how long time it will take until the new world based on this new consciousness stabilizes. Yet, I also know that it is only through a shared intention aligned with the cosmic plan that there is any reasonable hope for a future. The Conscious Convergence is thus also about retrieving the Mayan calendar to its rightful place as a guide on the common path towards a world based on unity consciousness. In a time of dramatic change it becomes all the more important to have a firmly anchored intention to relate to as we approach the full completion of all nine calendars. I believe that only such an intention, existing on the level of our civilization, may serve to give us guidance in a time when the old social structures will very possibly disintegrate. The Hopi prophecy for instance urges us to gather ourselves and be good to each other. They warn that the time of the lone wolf is over. We can only survive if we cooperate on achieving common goals. This is obvious to any faithful Christian as well.

Many people realize that there will be a need to recreate our civilization in the time ahead and if nothing else a series of natural disasters have told people that this may now have reached a dead end. To get out of this dead end, many are suggesting profound changes of our current economic and social system in order for humanity to survive into a better world. This points to the Conscious Convergence also as an event for networking in a very broad sense. If the Conscious Convergence can gather people that are seeking this new direction and experience that they have the energies of the cosmic plan on their back then I would say that my vision of this event will have been fulfilled. It is however also part of my vision that millions will share their own visions based on this common intention of manifesting unity consciousness. The preparations for the ninth wave would allow many positive aspirations to be anchored in a purposeful process. When millions are taking the stand that there is a higher purpose to this planet than just to end in a series of disasters then I believe providence will move. When millions are showing each other that they too see a higher purpose to life, and intend to manifest it together, then a significant step towards the fulfillment of the cosmic plan will have been taken.

Conscious Language

This is a shared message from my friend Tony Burroughs (a link to his website is provided below).  This message is so well stated that it is included here in its entirety.  Just remember that your words are like prayers, so be careful what you wish for!

The Bridge ~ Step 21 ~ Conscious Language

Know that you are assisting others by your own realizations.
You then enhance and increase the possibilities
for others to go where you have been.

So much of our lives have been spent thinking that we can be frivolous with our spoken words, but now we’re finding out that it’s to our great advantage to be clear and concise about what we desire to manifest. We know that our words are the building-blocks of our future. With this in mind, we’ve eliminated five words that kept us un-empowered and no longer serve us well. In our circles, we’ve stopped using trying, hoping, wanting, to be, and not because they were interfering with the manifestation of our intentions. Today we will talk about the first three of these sabotaging words.

We eliminated “trying” because it’s a halfway word. It provides a built-in excuse to be unsuccessful. If you’re having a conversation with someone and you say, “I’ll meet you tomorrow morning at 11 o’clock ,” and their response is, “I’ll try,” it isn’t very reassuring.

We’ve also dropped “hoping” and “hopefully” from our vocabulary. When a person is “hoping” that something will happen, he or she is holding on to a little bit of doubt about whether their intention will really come true. If they replace “I hope” and “hopefully” with “I intend”, and really trust in the Intention Process, then things will begin to change for them. They will stop limiting themselves unknowingly.

Wanting is another word that we refrain from using in our Intenders Circles because it implies that there is a scarcity of things. We looked it up in the dictionary and it said that if we were in a state of wanting, then we were lacking. So now, instead of saying, “I want a new car,” we say, “I intend that I have a new car.” This slight change, though very subtle, has taken scarcity out of the picture and brought us much closer to our own empowerment.

You can easily tell what’s going on in the lives of your friends and acquaintances by listening closely to what they’re saying. If they are using these un-empowered words, then they are most-likely creating scarcity and limitation in their lives. You can help them to raise their level of consciousness by setting an example for them and, when they’re receptive, by gently explaining to them how their words are limiting their experience. When you do this, everyone is uplifted. And that energy radiates outward into your community and into the world you live in.

My Intention for today is:
I intend that I am only using words that serve me.

We encourage you to forward this message to your list of friends. If this message was sent to you from a friend, you can go to http://www.intenders.org to sign up free for The Intenders Bridge.

Perfection

Have you ever considered how perfect your life is?  I know this is a pretty uncommon way to think but it is actually the road to success.  Not just success but happiness and authentic inner joy.  How does one discover this?  By embracing the sadness, the failures and the losses!

I am not saying that you need to seek out pain, trials or tribulations, but what I am saying is that when they show up in your life, see the perfection in that.  Embrace the gifts you are given for the simple fact that “resistance is futile”!  As Carl Yung so eloquently pointed out long ago, the fact is that what you resist persists.  What this means is as long as you fight something the more likely it will be in your life.  Look at the USA government for a perfect example.  The war on drugs, the war on crime, etc. etc. all lead to more of what they resist.  We have more drugs in society today than ever before and it can be attributed to the “war”.  What are you fighting in your life?  A war on alcoholism, a war on prejudice, or maybe it is just a dislike of your fat thighs or pot belly.  It is time to throw the towel in!  Give up!  Sometime when you win you lose and this works in reverse too.

Take a different perspective on your life and see the perfection in all that occurs.  Look deep within and see how you really feel about losing that job which you did not care about anyway.  What puts you into a panic is the fear of loss.  Starving to death in this day and age takes some determination, but there are still some who insist on taking this road.  May they be blessed in the adventure.

Have you considered the possibility that you create your life by your thoughts and actions?  I must agree that some things seem out of your control and beyond the scope of your desire.  I certainly have wrestled with my inner urgings and a few years ago I gave up the battle and embraced them.  The inner battle I speak of is my gender identity which did not match my outer appearance.  I was given a male body but a female brain and I have been fighting this all my life.  Transition is letting go of the battle and accepting life as it needs to be

The path to acceptance is paved in understanding.  Get to know yourself and accept him or her as you need to be.  Not as you want to be or even desire to be.  Your inner self is patient and when you (your ego) step aside it will emerge!

Life is full of easy times, hard times, trials and tribulations.  Once you accept this and start seeing the perfection in the grand plan which is beyond your control the world will open up for you and you will experience life as your choice as if you designed it all.  Because you did 😉

Transition Journey

So what is transition really?  Ok, so it is a change, but what does that mean?  Yes, change is the most constant force in the Universe!  By transition do we mean a flower blooming?  Or a child growing to an adult?  Maybe, however to make this as simple as we can let’s go with a definition of changing from one state of being to another.  Now let’s get more specific and look at gender identity.  The transition I speak of today is gender transition.

In a way the transition is not about change at all, but about awareness.  Just being aware of what already is.  The core does not change.  Instead the person moves from ones state of being to another.  Like peeling the layers of an onion the transition journey reveals the deeper realization of self.  This may take a lifetime or it can be done in a few years.  The fact is that individuals are born with a gender identity that is innate.  However it is easy to be mis-lead by appearances.  Getting caught up in societies expectations is so easy with all the roles we have thrust upon us.

Authentic gender transition is about removing the false persona, male identity for MtoF or female persona for FtoM, which is created to “fit” into the world based on societies expectations.  Removing the veil and allowing our authentic self to emerge is what the journey is all about.  Growing up takes time so transition does not happen overnight, however transition does happen a lot faster than the first time around, unless you are one of the lucky ones who have not allowed the veil to be drawn.  When you start young the false persona is not created, but you still must be aware of your authentic self and make sure this is who you are expressing.  More and more kids are being allowed to transition now days which is a revolution of awakening in this authors opinion.

Transition is a natural process that really needs no assistance other than deep awareness.  Are you aware of how you feel?  What makes you happy?  Have you walked down that road and deeply enjoyed the journey?  If you are male transitioning to female then dress up and see how it feels.  Know as much as you can about the journey. It is sort of like planning a trip from New York to Shangri-La. In order to get to Shangri-La one must leave New York.

If you need a tour guide then by all means, please get help.  Discovering the aspects of you that are false can be a long road and not an obvious one.  The most important aspect of the transition journey is to be authentic and natural.  Authenticity involves following your bliss, and doing that which brings Joy to your heart.  Let go of any desire to play a role or attempt to fit other people’s expectations.  It is not about being black or white (male or female), but about showing your true colors!

Law of Opposites

The law of opposites states that when you wish for something the opposite often shows up first so that you can be very clear on what it is that you truly wish for.  Many people get disillusioned by this and move on to something else thinking their dreams are unanswered.  I am here to explain to you why this is a big mistake.

First of all, all prayers are answered in some form or fashion.   Whatever is in the Highest Good is what will manifest.  Since you do not know what that is, it is difficult to know if your prayer was answered.  So sometimes your prayer is answered in a round-a-bout way.  So keep your eyes open for that which you desire.

Make a wish and then be patient it could take a while and you will probably see the opposite first.  Say you desire a new partner and a loving relationship.  You focus on the person of your dreams and have a list of traits that you like in a person.  The people you meet at first will most likely be just the opposite, for instance this is why we often meet the “bad boy” type first before the “Prince in Shining Armour” shows up.  The way I look at this is simply that the Universe is questioning your choice and asking you to be certain about what you are looking for.  It is a matter of faith!

Those who are certain what they want and are willing to stay focused on this will get it.  It is that simple, but is it simple? Not usually. Our minds are always playing tricks with us and one way to get around this is to use subliminal messaging, either audio or video or both.  This puts our desires straight into the subconscious mind where everything manifests from.  Nothing we hold in consciousness is ever manifest directly.  All manifestation comes from the subconscious mind.  This is why we have to repeat experiences and prayers over and over till the message filters down.

I compare this process to flotsam.  You have a thought about a sexy guy (or girl) you would like to have in your life and this is like flotsam floating on the surface of the sea.  The more you have this thought the more it builds and eventually it sinks.  When it finally gets down to the bottom of the sea or the subconscious mind then it manifests.  If in the mean time you move on to another thought then the subconscious mind is getting mixed signals and ends up manifesting nothing.

So the next time you notice that you are getting the opposite of your desires, for instance you are broke instead of being wildly rich, know that it is just the Universe’s way of showing you contrast and confirming your true desires!

Embarrassment

Most people do not think of embarrassment as a tool for spiritual growth, however I am here to tell you that it is one of the best tools we can use.  The fact is that it works quite automatically and takes little effort.  So for all you people who avoid embarrassment at all costs I just want to make you aware of what you are missing.

“Embarrassment is an emotional state experienced upon having a socially or professionally unacceptable act or condition witnessed by or revealed to others. Usually some amount of loss of honour or dignity is involved, but how much and the type depends on the embarrassing situation.” (Wikipedia 2010) An important distinction that separates this from shame is that no moral code has been broken.  So what is happening in our mind when something embarrassing happens?

As the definition states it is an emotional response and anything happening in the mind is secondary.  Our thoughts about the embarrassing event can be changed or to be more accurate our thoughts can be chosen.  We will have the emotional response no matter what because that is part of the very definition; however, how we then react to that emotional feeling is a choice.  So let’s look at some of the choices we have and why we would choose them.

Behind all thoughts we have our ego mind which is the driving force that judges and condemns all actions whether by us or them.  The ego mind says that this embarrassing act is awful and then points out all the ways that it could be awful.  We also have the Spiritual mind or the aspect that connects us to the One and to each other.  Ego separates and Spirit unites.  The Spirit mind does not judge anything or anyone.  Instead it simply observes and looks for the good within what just happened.  It is the part of you that despite the message from ego, laughs at the event and finds Joy.

The choice then is do you listen to the ego which is telling you embarrassment is bad and undesirable or do you listen to the Spirit mind that is showing you the Joy?  Saint Francis often used the tool of embarrassment to bring him closer to God and he did it on purpose.  For instance when he made the move to a secular life he renounced his association with the material world in a public display of returning all he owned to his father including the clothing he was wearing and walked away totally naked.  For most people this would be unbearable embarrassment, but for him it feed his soul.  When you read about his life you will find many instances where he or another monk would do something most would find embarrassing on purpose.

Embarrassment is a way of moving beyond the ego mind which often controls most people.  This then frees the Spirit to guide our actions.  The choice is constantly being made, so do you listen to your ego or to Spirit?  Embarrassment is a tool that automatically takes you to your Spirit mind once you have made the choice to allow it.  See that embarrassment is simply a choice and that often times it is funny and you can laugh along with everyone else!  The feeling of freedom that comes from this action will far outweigh any difficult emotions that may come with the ego mind.  It will take a few practice runs to get comfortable with it, so do not be discouraged.  Let go, Listen and Love.

The Perfect Relationship

Does it really exist?  Don’t be too quick to judge.  Of course it does, and I am going to show you, but first a few points and foundational comments to start with.  We have a relationship with everything in our life.  So this means that you have a relationship with your family, your pets, your Lover, and every object in your life.  What I am focused on here is the Love relationship with a partner.  Many of the principles will go with any relationship.

The first thing to remember is that all relationships are about one thing, God expressing through you in self-awareness.  As you are aware of God, God experiences God.  Now, who or what is God.  Simply put God is all there is.  So how does an omnipotent, omnipresent, being know itself?   By creating you!  Of course the other thing to remember is that God knows all there is to know and so do you.  God wants nothing, because God is everything.  The word I think best describes God is LOVE.

With this in mind, as I express Love, I am expressing GOD.  I am being the best “God” I can be.  The goal in any relationship is to express Love.  This expression leads to Peace and the experience of Peace will take us beyond all that is not God to a realization that we have been home with God all along.  Yes, there is “not God” in this dualistic world, and you probably know this better than you realize.  The easy way to tell the difference is “not God” separates, while God unifies.

So as we go thru our life we will be doing things and we will have feelings while doing them.  As long as the feeling is positive you are on the right track, if you feel a sick feeling or negative one then something is not right and you need to change direction.  This takes practice and experimentation, but over the years you will learn to do this either, consciously or not.  The desire is to make this expression conscious and by observing your feelings, which are a combination of thoughts and emotions, you are being guided by Holy Spirit.  A heightened consciousness and a greater awareness of all that is will result.

The next obvious question is how does one express Love.  And this is really what relationships are for, the practice of expressing Love so that we may experience ourselves in our highest glory and that we may know God as God.  Your partner is a witness to your life, your best friend, and your supporter.  In so doing they are experiencing God.  Conversely you are the same for them.  Thus the cycle of Love and relation moves, grows and cycles back where it started with God

The partner relationship has one main purpose, to Love and Be Loved.  How this looks is open for interpretation with infinite possibilities!  It is best experienced without judgment or expectations as to what it should be like.  Simply accept it all as an expression of Great Spirit or God.

Similar interests helps to move things along,  so as we express ourselves your partner can understand more fully what you are doing and can help guide you by participating in the experience.  Of course we all have thoughts that are different than our partner and this is the real gift.  As we celebrate our differences, not trying to accentuate them, but by honoring them, our partner helps us grow.  The longer two people are together the closer aligned they become.

Love your partner as they are, because it is up to them to change, if they even want to, so if you are not happy with something about them then step back and see if it is not something about you that is the real problem.  Remember the world is a reflection of who you are and I mean your personal world, not the world at large (that is a culmination of all that is).  As you celebrate your partner so you celebrate yourself, because we are all one.

Criticize not, or you will be condemning yourself.  The more you become one with your partner the stronger the relationship becomes, but this need not be done by constantly standing by their side and melting into a shadow.  In fact, the more you express yourself and be the person you were meant to be the better.  Freedom to do this is important for a healthy relationship.  Balance is advised here.  Let me just say that we each have to learn on our own how this works, so doing what worked for someone else is no guarantee that it will work for you.  Your assets enhance your partner; your strength is theirs.  Forget about any short comings, they are soon to be history anyway.  In the process of growth be forgiving of any mistakes you or your partner makes.  A short memory when it comes to these things is a blessing.  Each day is a new day, a new opportunity for you to be the best “you” possible.

Innocence Revealed

Innocence is generally thought of as being free from guilt as in a crime or in a moral sense, however I feel that the meaning runs much deeper than that and I offer a difference perspective on what innocence is.

The law is fairly straight forward.  Either a person is guilty or innocent.  Often only the individual truly knows the Truth.  If a person were to believe the material they read in the Christian bible it would have you believe that even a new born baby is guilty from the day they are born, because of the actions of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden.  All humans are guilty! …NOT.  Please do yourself a favor and see beyond the veil of this falsehood.

Of course you are free to believe anything you like and the offering here is meant as a gift for further contemplation.  It is not likely that if you are reading this blog you actually believe in a literal translation of the bible anyway.  So does innocence have anything to do with religion or the bible?  I believe on a superficial level it does, but it also goes far beyond these worn out teachings.

What if innocence was a state of consciousness or a state of being in which any human can operate.  What this means for the average individual is that innocence is available to every human being at any time in any place.  There is a purity to innocence that when accessed opens you to your soul and a very simple authentic expression.

Innocence has a very high energy vibration that is coupled with source creator.  In order to access this state of consciousness or being one simply has to let go of any mental attachment to who they think they are and also to what they think they are doing.  Instead come from a place of being open to the flow of events in a non-judgmental way.

Babies do this naturally, (despite what the bible teaches) as do animals.  Our pets are excellent at modeling innocence for us!  Of course this relationship often gets construed with our human behavior projections so that the pet becomes like us.

The innocence I speak of is the one that comes from not knowing, genuine curiosity, and non-judgment.  The not-knowing I speak of is not ignorance as that implies apathy.  Innocence comes from a deep caring, sense of adventure and desire to explore.  It is that wild eyed look a child gets when they discover something new and exciting.  Watching dogs play in the park without human intervention is another demonstration of innocence.  Love can have an innocence to it when first embraced, and for those who are lifelong partners it is something that is never lost.

Innocence is a place we all can operate from on a daily basis.  It does take an intention to do so and practice will make it into a habit, so that we are constantly coming from this divine place of freedom, authenticity, curiosity, open mindedness, and non-judgment.

Oneness

The concept of oneness is growing in acceptance and yet many still do not understand the full meaning of the word. Let me shed some light on this for all of us.

Oneness is all inclusive and very simple in concept, but the reality in this ego world is that separation is struggling to maintain a hold on our lives. You are using the same mind as Albert Einstein, or Mother Theresa.

In fact, at the heart of  the new consciousness lies the transcendence of thought, a newfound ablitity of rising above thought, of realizing a dimension within yourself that is infinitly more vast than thought.” Eckhart Tolle, A New Earth, Page 21-22

This dimension is the Oneness I speak of. It is something that must be experienced to truly know what it is, but once that connection is made it is a part of you and cannot be lost. In fact it is constantly growing. This is so much larger than “you”! Can you feel it? After reading “A new earth” by Eckhart Tolle it all became so clear to me and that feeling has continued to grow.

Given that we have Infinite Possibilities, what is the direction you would like to take? This is a very important question at this crossroad. I speak on the level of all of humanity from the perspective of the Highest Good of everyone. We are co-creators with the most High and so when we get in touch with this goodness and allow it to flow through us great things are created! Be a conscious creator and share your thoughts. As we awaken to the Infinite Potential we posses we are compelled to follow our heart and just knowing that everyone in the world is Happy, Healthy, and Whole creates that as reality. Think about this carefully now and consider what it means to be ONE. What you say is true, so be aware of your choices. As a gentle suggestion here, let go of your fears and limitations; see the Highest Society possible. To share of yourself is the Highest gift you can give, and the more individuals that share a similar vision the more likely that it will manifest. Together we have created our past and now we have the opportunity to shape our future consciously! As we live in the moment, focus on all the wonderful gifts we have now (count our blessings), and take action by visualizing a future of Joy and Harmony for all beings in this Universe, so will the life we all desire manifest gloriously.

Isolation of Choice

Transition is all about choice and the effects of the decisions we make along the road.  As we navigate the many options available to us we make the best decision we can with the information available to us at the time.

You may have heard the expression, “hindsight is 20/20”.  The reason for this is simple.  Looking back you have more information available so you can make a better decision.  Knowing this, it makes no sense to beat yourself up for missed opportunities or decisions that did not work out.  Look around and see where you stand and move from here.  Focus on your desires and be consistent.

This does not mean that desires will not change and that once you get to a location that you may decide to move on or go back.  Nothing is ever in vain.  Nor is anything lost in the process of pursuing your dreams.  Even if you fail, you have succeeded in moving closer and had experiences that show you where not to go, so be grateful for what you have!  Always and all ways be grateful for what you have in any given moment.  Yes, all moments are gifts!  They are gifts from you to you.

To those who are aware in any situation, condition or place has a gift waiting there to be discovered.  Winning the lottery may seem like a wonderful gift but can be a disaster if mismanaged.  The same goes for a seeming disaster like the death of a child or the murder of your partner.  In the midst of the situation it is not always easy to see the light (the gift).  This is where friends and family come in.

Transitions are always a big deal and facing something like this alone is simply a formula for failure.  The isolated mind turns in on itself and life gets distorted, things seem worse than they are or perhaps they seem better than they really are.  The only way to get a clear picture of where you stand is to get feedback from those who care.

This can mean going to the doctor or therapist, talking to your closest friend, or confiding in your immediate family.  I am not saying you look to others for approval, but only for other opinions or view points.  If a person has a long history of shooting your ideas down and telling you how much you mess up, it is not a good idea to confide in this person.  Don’t laugh!  People do it all the time.  The best favor you can do for a friend is to give them an honest objective opinion from your point of view.  It is up to the person asking to take the news maturely and put the information to good use.

Giving Therapy

The transition journey can be long and lonely at times and one of the best therapies I have discovered is giving.  I will call this Giving Therapy and it is good for the soul.  One of the most basic principles we all should know by now is if you want something, give it away!

Ok, so this maybe giving from a different perspective, however I think you are going to love this once you understand what I speak of.  The first question that comes to mind is how can I give away something I do not have?  This is the materialistic point of view and one that we have all experienced at some time or another.

The principle works like this.  Give what you do have and work up from there.  Work from your desires and give what you want.  Say for instance that you are craving love and affection, then you should be giving love and affection to others.  Not forcing it on them of course.  Focusing on your successes is imperative in this practice, because if you focus on your rejections then you will be setting yourself up for more rejection.  By focusing on what you desire and helping others get it, then through the law of attraction you get it.

The same principle works for money.  If per chance you do not have much money, then you simply help others get it!  The important thing to remember here it is not about you.  In the process of helping others we help ourselves. “It is one of the most beautiful compensations of life that no man can sincerely try to help another without helping himself.” (Ralph Waldo Emerson).

The benefits of giving are immense and start with a feeling of satisfaction.  This feeling makes you feel warm in your heart and it flows out all over your body.  Even small gestures such as giving the homeless person on the corner a dollar brings warmth, giving is circular.  It is best not to hold the conscious thought that if I help this person they will help me or God will favor me.  This is very archaic thought and simply does not work.  Giving for the sake of giving and giving from the heart not the mind works.

Make a habit of it and it becomes easier.  Just remember to push your established limits from time to time.  It is easy to get in the habit of giving at church every week and then forget about all the other opportunities we have all week.  In this authors opinion one of the best gifts is something that cannot be gotten from any other place.  Love, Hugs, Attention, Gratitude, Acknowledgement, and Compliments rank up there as the most valuable gifts that can be given or received.  Material gifts can also be valuable when they serve the needs of the recipient.

Putting thought into your gift so that the recipient can use the gift shows that you care and that you know them which in itself is a gift.  Another way to give is to offer your services or simply do things for another.  This can be simple like making breakfast for your partner or friend.  Making sure chores are done so they do not have to do this (this is a great way for a child to show their parents they love them).  Courteous gestures such as buying gas for the car you are borrowing, cleaning up after yourself when using public space (or any space really), and allowing others to go ahead of you in the line.

The options for giving are endless and the benefit is that you feel better and won’t be worrying about your challenges anymore.  Caring for others is the fastest way to move beyond your own personal transition challenges.  Love is the answer every time.

Differences?

Many people you meet are different than you in many different ways.  They could be different in physical appearance, cultural behavior, attitudes, beliefs, sexual preference, and social presentation.  Do you look for these differences or do you look for what you have in common?

The best way to make a friend is to find something in common and compliment them in some way.  The nuances and personalities of individuals are what make life interesting.  Without these things life would get pretty boring.  So how does one handle being in a social situation with someone who is different?  This will be as unique as the individual’s, however here are some pointers that may help.

Show respect and treat them how you would want to be treated.  If you are curious as to why an individual would pierce certain body parts and wear leather or tattoos then it is certainly ok to ask, however do so in a way that shows respect.  Make no statements of judgment or offers of opinion unless it is a compliment.  Your attitude will show in your mannerisms and if you are authentic and honest then you will most likely be well received.

The same goes for those who are the target of questions.  The way in which you respond will stay with the person and likely form their opinion of like individuals they may meet down the road.  In a way you are a spokes person for humanity and this is something to keep in mind.

Physical appearance, cultural behavior, attitudes, beliefs, sexual preference, and social presentation are things that are not contagious so do not treat them as such.  You will make choices as to how you live your life and present yourself in public so give others the freedom to do the same.  Working in a cubicle next to a person who identifies as gay has no bearing on your sexual preference, unless you say it does.  Maybe you find him attractive.  Maybe you have conservative religious beliefs and find him objectionable.  Either way he deserves your respect and common courtesies at all times whether in public or if you are with him alone in the elevator.

We each are who we are and that does not change because of proximity.  It has been discovered recently that gender identity and sexual orientation are determined before birth and are hard wired into the brain.  So please understand that you are the way you are and simply embrace it.  While you are embracing who you are allow others to be who they are too.

We can all live together with our divine differences easily or not.  Believing what a book tells you, some authority figure in a black robe tells you or even what a parent tells you is a formula for pain and suffering.  Make up your own mind, based on your own experiences and get many viewpoints on a subject that seems important to you.  Blind faith leads to destruction.

Love is the answer to any challenge you are ever faced with.
